The Tucker/Hall paid internship program introduces college
students to the public relations profession by involving them
in daily account activities. We use a "hands-on"
approach that enables interns to gain exposure to various
aspects of the business.
Our goal is simple: To help interns gain a broader sense
of the strategies behind the work by getting them involved
with teams of talented professionals.
In the Tucker/Hall intern program, you’ll learn:
Media relations, press and website content development.
Special event and conference planning.
Client relations and new business research.
Policy and issue research.
As a Tucker/Hall intern, you’ll work with prestigious
national and regional clients, including a variety of fast-growth
companies - an experience that will strengthen and sharpen
your skills. You’ll also act as account manager for
internal public relations and marketing efforts. That way,
you’ll have an opportunity to learn to effectively manage
multiple tasks, develop strategic plans and express creativity.
The end result will be an understanding of bottom-line accountability.
By the end of the program, you’ll have a portfolio full
of tangible accomplishments that will illustrate your skills
to a potential employer or professor.
Tucker/Hall internships can serve as part-time work for university
students or as part of a curriculum completed for college
credits. Each internship is designed with the goals of the
student or professor in mind. At Tucker/Hall, you won’t
be simply photocopying and filing – you’ll be
working on real client issues and gaining hands-on experience
with our clients and account service teams.
How It Works:
We accept interns year-round; however, most are for three
to six-month periods in the fall, spring and summer semesters.
To be considered for a Tucker/Hall internship position, applicants
must be enrolled in a bachelor or master’s degree program
at a well-respected university in economics, political science,
public policy, or history.
Our selection process involves:
Review of resumes and prior experience, if any.
Extensive interviews with a short list of candidates.
Consideration of writing samples – strong written communication skills are a prerequisite.
Reference checks from professors and others.
We hire smart, energetic, optimistic self-starters who have
high ambitions for their careers. Our interns must enjoy a
fast-changing environment and must work well under pressure.
